Rather than storing comic books away where no one will see them, why not display them prominently for friends and visitors to admire?

Whether displaying a home-written or drawn comic book or showing off a prized copy of Action Comics #1 plastic cases or frames are perfect for the job.

Why keep comic books stashed away in the basement? With new products on the market, it’s possible to display even the most valuable comic book without eroding its value. If one isn’t picky about preserving the condition, there are even more options for showing off a prized collection.

Frames, Cases, Binders for Displaying Comic Books

There are several options to ponder before setting up your new “comic book museum” in your living room. The best way to display comics books are:

  • Frames
  • Clear Display Box
  • Lockable Case
  • 3-Ring Binder

Any of these will look nice on a wall of coffee table and allow friends and visitors enjoy the best comic books in your collection.

Comic Book Display Frames: Metal, Wood, Matted

For those not interested in allowing their prized issues to be read or handled by visitors, a simple comic book-sized frame will suffice. A nifty 3 or 4 comic book holder, such as IKEA’s Erikslund matted frame, adds a stylish flair.

Note: Direct light fades comic books. Avoid sun damage by either keeping the frame out of the direct light or use this secret: take a high quality color photo copy of the comic book cover and frame it in place of the comic book. Stash the real thing away where it can accrue value. No one will be the wiser and the real comic book will never fade!

Comic Book Display Boxes: Glass, Acrylic, Plexiglass

The advantage of a display box vs a frame is that with a box the back and the front are often visible. They tend to be sturdier and some allow for multiple issues to be displayed together, beneath the first issue. Some, such as USADisplay’s custom Plexiglass comic book frame, stand up freely on a table or countertop.

The lockable comic book display case is ideal for those valuable issues, and also if you want admirers to ask before putting their grubby fingers on your prized issue. The Comic Book Display Cases Company has fancy foam-filled lockable boxes that can be mounted on a wall or will standalone also.

Some companies offer UV coating on their comic book display cases, which protects comics from light damage. Usually this is spendy option, but is worth it if trying to preserve and admire at the same time.

3-Ring Binder Holds and Protects Comic Books

Want favorite issues to be more accessible than if they are locked in case? Try the 3-ring binder method. Using such products as the BCW Comic Book Collector Starter Kit which comes with a binder and 20 sleeves, collectors can keep their favorite issues in plastic protective sleeves and carry them in a large binder for easy access.

Whether a collector is looking to put up comic books like art in a fancy frame, or simply display them safely for others to peruse, there is a suitable and protective method.

Of course we may be biased but we offer another option to frame comic book art, our patented Comic Book Frame has the number one organic Google ranking for a comic book frame. Our frame earned this ranking as in the past seven years a lot of comic book collectors have found us to be a great inexpensive way to display the art work of comic books. I sincerely appreciate your consideration to include my comment, it's not meant to be an ad but to add another option for readers. For the record our site is www.ComicBookFrame.com
